THE challenge
VeChain came to us with the core mechanics, user stories and initial flows already defined. My role was to understand the system, challenge those flows and turn them into a clearer and more intuitive product experience.
Unlike VeBetterDAO, Stargate was designed for experienced crypto users. The goal wasn’t to hide the complexity, but to make a highly technical system easier to understand and manage.
the design
I started by breaking down the provided user stories and mapping the different states, dependencies and edge cases across the staking journey.
From there, I refined the flows around clearer decisions and feedback, helping users understand what was happening to their assets at every step, from staking and maturity to earning rewards, exiting delegation and unstaking.
As Stargate evolved, I also designed the validator experience, giving validators a dedicated dashboard to monitor delegated stake, manage their participation in the network and track the blocks they validate.
This expanded Stargate from a staking experience into a broader platform connecting both sides of VeChain’s delegation system.
The Outcome
Stargate launched in July 2025 as VeChain’s new staking platform, backed by a $15M rewards program to accelerate adoption of the new staking model.
At launch, users minted 13.8K staking NFTs, representing more than 6.7B VET staked across the platform.
We continued evolving Stargate throughout 2025, introducing validator delegation and expanding the experience as the platform became a key part of VeChainThor’s new staking infrastructure.
